- עָקוֹב, עָקֹבm. (עָקַב) (crooked, tricky, aḳob, a thing believed to prevent (or absorb) rain. Snh.108b יש לנו … ע׳ שמו Ar. (ed. ועקב) we have something, its name is ʿạ.; Yalk. Job 906 ועקב; v. עָקוֹש. Cmp. אִלִּיתָא.
